What is Infrared Diagnostic Testing?

One of the key components of an effective Home/Office energy audit is infrared thermography, also called thermal imaging. It is the inspection of a home or building including the basement, attic, walls, door, windows, HVAC, air conditioning ductwork, etc. with an infrared camera to discover and reveal unforeseen problems which can be repaired or improved to promote energy saving.

Electrical Infrared Scanning

Increased resistance and heat are the primary reasons most electrical components fail.  Before electrical components fail, they heat up.  Infrared scanning is used to inspect electrical equipment because excess heat is usually the first sign of trouble.  Loose connections, imbalanced and or overloaded circuits, defective breakers, damaged switches, faulty fuses, and material defects all lead to equipment failure.
